Acrylic vs Rubber Adhesives

How do I know whether to choose an acrylic adhesive or rubber adhesive?

When selecting an adhesive, it is important to keep the end use of the product in mind. Each type of adhesive can be made to bond to most surfaces through special formulating techniques, but each type has, by nature, specific adhesion characteristics. Rubber-based adhesives make excellent general purpose adhesives because they stick well to many non-polar, low surface energy materials. On the other hand, acrylic adhesives have good adhesion to polar surfaces such as metals, glass and polyesters.

Tape Dispensing

How important is the design and implementation of a tape dispenser when it comes to dispensing tape on a production line?

In short, a properly designed tape dispenser is very important to a company’s overall manufacturing process. And today, tape and label dispensers can be designed and built specifically for a company’s unique applications. These innovative tape dispensers provide taping solutions for pressure sensitive and water-activated (gummed or carton sealing) tapes. Electric and electronic ‘definite length’ tape dispensers are designed to increase operator productivity, reduce material costs, dispense tape to consistent lengths, reduce operator fatigue, accept virtually any type of tape, and provide straight cuts for better looking taped products.

Label dispensers provide labeling solutions for pressure sensitive labels. Electric label dispensers are all metal and function with consistent, high precision and reliable photoelectric sensors. Knowing you have a label dispenser that uses a photo sensor, you can ensure you are getting the highest technology for your application that is versatile enough to handle any size, shape and material of label… including die-cut or kiss cut parts.

Electric and automatic tape and label dispensers add value to production lines, make it easy to peel, and present and apply labels in the manufacturing process, which adds value to any company. And certainly, a good dispenser will help with the overall package of a company’s products.
